Educational Programs Offered by KI-Bochum

The Bochum Municipal Integration Center offers a wide range of programs and services aimed at improving educational opportunities for (newly) immigrant students.

The “Wegbereiter” municipal initiative is designed to help improve their educational pathways. It provides a comprehensive overview of the approach and results of the projects implemented since 2017 and serves as the foundation for sustaining the projects and processes that have been developed and gained visibility since 2017. It forms the basis for transferring these initiatives to schools and other municipalities.

You can find the Bochum Concept here.

Language Placement Test (Consultation)

The KI Bochum provides assistance with applying for a language proficiency test (assessment test): Newly arrived students (so-called “late entrants”) at a general education school or Berufskolleg, along with their teachers, receive support in submitting an application to the district government to have the official language of their country of origin assessed in place of a required foreign language. This is intended to facilitate the attainment of a high school diploma.
