Programs for Parents, Children, and Families

The City of Bochum’s Family Education Center supports families at every stage of life. It offers practical courses, open meeting spaces, and counseling—for parents, children, grandparents, and other caregivers. The goal is to make everyday family life easier, strengthen relationships, and share knowledge.

What's on offer?

  • Parent-Child Classes
From baby classes to playgroups to music and movement activities—the focus here is on shared experiences.

  • Parent Education
Through lectures and workshops, parents receive guidance on parenting, communication, media use, and other everyday topics. Many of these programs are part of the Bochum Parents’ School.

Whether it's sewing, cooking, yoga, or dance—these activities promote well-being and creativity.

The courses are held at the Family Education Center (Zechenstraße 10), in other classrooms (Liboriusstraße 39, Brantropstraße 14), and in cooperation with other institutions in Bochum.
